Subway Tiles

Subway tile was originally developed for and used on the walls of New York City’s Subway stations at the beginning of the 20th century. With its pencil-thin grout lines, flat surface, and coved corners, it was easy to clean and to remove graffiti, so it got the name "sanitary-ware."
